Our communities are facing both a healthcare and housing shortage. As a Locum Home host, you can help to ensure that every community has sufficient housing options for travelling and relocating healthcare professionals to stay in.
First things first: ensure that your listing meets the requirements of the municipal bylaws in your community.Â
You should also research comparable rental prices in your community so that you set your rates effectively.
Take pictures and gather basic information for your listing. You’ll need to provide details like: how many bedrooms, how many bathrooms, and the total number of guests that will be allowed per night.Â
It is important to consider additional factors, such as securing a suitable insurance policy for your listing.
Once you have completed steps 1 & 2, listing your place only takes a few minutes to complete. It’s so simple, you could even do it from your mobile phone! Â
You will be able to set nightly, weekly, or monthly rates and you can set your listings availability according to your personal preference. Â
There is no minimum amount of time that you will be required to make your listing available – so you can choose to list your place all year round, or only once in a while.
You can list one place, or several places – all within a single host account. Â
Whether you’re a ‘snowbird’ making your home available while travelling for a portion of the year, or someone with a spare room to rent out in your home, or a property manager with several properties to list – Locum Home can accommodate you.
Our calendar is very easy to use. You select the periods when your listing is available. You can choose to make your listing available as often or as little as suits you, and you can makes changes to your availability when ever you need to.
We are proud to offer transparent pricing. We charge hosts a 5% marketing fee for each booking. This is calculated on the base rent amount only.
We utilize this fee in our robust marketing campaigns so that you don’t have to worry about the time & cost of marketing your property on your own.

Your payments will be released to your Locum Home ‘wallet’ 24 hours after your guest arrives. You can transfer funds from your Locum Home wallet into your bank account anytime you wish.
Being that Locum Home was created in order for healthcare professionals to access housing during work assignments – your place will need to be within a reasonable commute from a healthcare facility.
Aside from that, as long as you adhere to the municipal bylaws for property rentals in your community, you are welcome to list your place on Locum Home.
Once you log in to your account, you can communicate with your guests through the messaging system that is built into the platform.
